LŌ-GOI Group and Lach Huyen International Logistics & Industrial Park have signed an exclusive strategic partnership to develop a major logistics hub within Lach Huyen Port’s Free Trade Zone.

At the Haiphong Investment Promotion Conference, held alongside the 2025 APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting on July 15, LŌ-GOI Group and Lach Huyen International Logistics & Industrial Park – Deepwater Port JSC, a member of Xuan Cau Holdings, signed an MoU to establish exclusive strategic cooperation for infrastructure development at Lach Huyen Port.

The agreement marks the launch of a planned 200-hectare intermodal freight and logistics estate, part of a broader effort to strengthen Vietnam’s role as a regional trade and supply chain hub. This forms a key component of one of northern Vietnam’s most ambitious infrastructure projects: the development of the Xuan Cau Free Trade Zone Industrial Park in tandem with the expansion of Lach Huyen Deep Sea Port.

The partners will collaborate to develop a nationally significant intermodal transport hub, enhancing the storage, movement, and production of goods across the free trade zone.

Trent Iliffe, founder and managing director, LŌ-GOI Group, said, "This is a once-in-a-decade, nation-building infrastructure project which allows us to set a new benchmark for logistics infrastructure development in Vietnam and throughout Asia-Pacific."

"Partnering with LŌ-GOI Group allows us to realise our long-held vision for Lach Huyen as an integrated, world-class industrial and logistics destination," said Nguyen Vinh Hau, general director at Lach Huyen International Logistics & Industrial Park - Deepwater Port JSC.

"By combining global and local expertise with proven execution capability, this joint venture will accelerate Vietnam’s evolution into a high-value trade and supply-chain hub," added Hau.

Echoing that confidence, Matthew Jackson, LŌ-GOI’s general manager for Northern Vietnam, noted that after months of close collaboration with Xuan Cau, the company ready to set a new standard for next-generation logistics.

"This deal isn't just about setting a new industry benchmark; it's about propelling Vietnam's economic growth and strengthening its global standing. By integrating advanced intermodal design, automation, and sustainability, we'll deliver a scalable, resilient ecosystem that generates long-term value for manufacturers, exporters, and the wider regional economy," said Jackson.

The joint venture is subject to various approvals, with the partners to announce further details over the coming months, but it is expected to create Northern Vietnam’s first fully integrated, high-tech intermodal gateway at Lach Huyen – fusing road, rail, and deep-sea transport into one seamless network.

More than 350,000 square metres of Grade-A warehousing and industrial space will be served by automated intermodal logistics systems, with direct links to national highways, the north-south rail spine, and global shipping lanes.

Sustainability and decarbonisation are embedded from day one: the estate is planned to be powered by a 42 MWp rooftop-based solar photovoltaic power plant combined with a 20 MWh battery storage system to ensure 100 per cent renewable power coverage.

Moreover, the estate is being designed to achieve LEED Platinum and targets EDGE Level 3 (Zero Carbon) green building certifications, supporting Vietnam’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

As such, all buildings will follow low-carbon engineering practices, with remaining carbon embodied through carbon forestry activities.

The development will cover approximately 70 hectares within the 2,000-hectare Lach Huyen Logistics, Industrial & Free Trade Zone, located directly next to the deep-sea port – home to 15 planned berths along a 55-km coastline – and a rail terminal designed to handle 7-12 million TEUs annually.

As part of the broader development plan, which aims for a total throughput capacity of 100 million TEUs per year by the end of the decade, 752 ha have been designated for Xuan Cau Free Trade Zone, with the remaining area dedicated to berths, container yards, and supporting infrastructure.
