The inauguration of C4IR marks a significant milestone in the cooperation between the Vietnamese government and the World Economic Forum. As only the second C4IR in Southeast Asia and the 19th globally, C4IR Ho Chi Minh City will serve as a key hub for the World Economic Forum, connecting Vietnam with global experts to drive industrial transformation.
During the Policy Dialogue at HEF 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said, "The industrial transformation of Ho Chi Minh City must be comprehensive, tied closely to the ambition of building a smart city with smart governance. Therefore, the city will need to have special independent policies to accelerate industrial transformation."
Ho Chi Minh City has already implemented strategies focused on the green economy, digital transformation for businesses, and favourable policies for startups and innovation. City leaders have announced their commitment to further accelerate efforts in becoming both 'greener' and more digital, while expanding cooperation with international organisations such as the World Bank and the World Economic Forum. A key focus will be establishing a modern civil service system with incentives to enhance policy implementation.
C4IR Ho Chi Minh City aims to become a hub of expertise to co-design and pilot future-focused policy frameworks that enable the development and deployment of technology regionally and globally.
The establishment of the C4IR is also a significant milestone in the partnership between the World Economic Forum and Vietnam, geared to help advance Vietnam’s ambitious innovation and growth agenda through international, multi-stakeholder collaboration.
