On August 19, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee issued Decision No.5260/QD-UBND on leasing land at Lot T8, SHTP, Tang Nhon Phu ward to Evolution DC VN HCMC JSC for the development of its data centre venture.
The land covers 49,554 square metres, with the government leasing it and collecting land rent on an annual basis. The land-use term is 50 years, running from March 30, 2026, to March 30, 2076. The land was leased without auction.
The land will be used to implement the data centre venture under an investment certificate issued by the Management Board of Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) on March 30.
The committee requires Evolution to to fully fulfil its financial obligations related to land rent, as well as other applicable taxes, fees and charges. The investor is responsible for coordinating with local authorities to determine and fulfill obligations related to land, investment, construction and planning.
In late April, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee awarded the investment registration certificate for a 52-MW data centre venture at the SHTP to Evolution. A consortium of three Singaporean investors, namely Hathor, Frontier, and Evolution, is developing the venture, which has a total investment capital of $508.7 million.
In December 2025, Evolution also established a joint venture with HTC International Telecommunication JSC to develop large-scale, AI and hyperscale data centres in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
This partnership will deliver critical sustainable digital infrastructure to support Vietnam's rapid digital transformation and growing demand for cloud and AI services with the fastest-growing digital economy in Southeast Asia.
Darren Webb, CEO of Evolution, said, “Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing digital markets. Through this market entry, Evolution will be one of the first international data centre operators active in Vietnam and the only one with projects in both major economic hubs, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This north-to-south strategy ensures we can support customer demand as it scales periodically.”
