Binu Jacob, managing director of Nestlé Vietnam said, “Climate change is a global issue that requires a comprehensive combination of global solutions. With the reforestation activity, we wish to contribute to raising awareness and spark interest in combating climate change while promoting environmental conservation efforts among our employees."
According to Do Thi Thanh Huyen, director of Gaia Nature Conservation Center, Nestlé’s reforestation activity has contributed 1,000 large trees to the Dong Nai Cultural Nature Reserve. These plants will provide native precious wood and food for wildlife.
This action also helps to restore and regenerate forest ecosystems, which helps to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change. Gaia and Nestlé will monitor and care for the newly planted trees for many years to ensure optimal growth.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, La Vie, a member of the Nestlé Group in Vietnam, collaborated with the Long An Department of Natural Resources and Environment to plant trees to contribute to protecting the environment and regenerating water resources. La Vie and its employees took part in planting and presenting 100 trees to the People's Committee of Tan Tru district in Long An.
