MoneyGram opens transfer counters in Vietnam

Pamela H. Patsley, Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of MoneyGram International (MGI), launched the first MoneyGram money transfer counter in Vietnam on March 3.

The MoneyGram counter, established in partnership with DongA Bank, is located in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Patsley praised Vietnam for boasting a high potential in remittances, which reached more than $7 billion in 2010.

Patsley added that cooperation with DongA Bank will help the company further expand its products and services throughout Vietnam.

Dong A Bank Deputy CEO Le Tri Thong affirmed that under the partnership, his bank will provide its customers with international standard services.

The same day, another MGI transfer counter was opened in the central city of Vinh , Nghe An province.
