Foreign visitors take a look at photos about endangered wild animals at the “Lucky Wildlife” exhibition at Mango Bay Phu Quoc resort - PHOTO: COURTESY OF ORGANIZERS |
The “Lucky Wildlife” show at the resort presents photos of 40 species of endangered wild animals with an aim to raise public awareness of protection of endangered species such as leopard, yellow-cheeked gibbon, grey-shanked douc langur, Indochinese lutung, Asiatic black bear, Malayan sun bear, peafowl, pangolin, Hawksbill sea turtle, and common pheasant.
All the animals pictured were rescued from illegal capture, trading or hunting. Many of them have been already released to their natural habitat and some are being taken care of at Cu Chi Wildlife Rescue Centre in HCMC and Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Centre in Kien Giang Province.
The free-entrance exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day until May 15.
At the opening of the event, all 40 guests signed a commitment to saying no to illegal wildlife products. Funds raised by selling the photos on display will go to the rescue activities of WAR.
