Former Manchester United FC goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel was greeted by crowds of football fans at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on April 24 upon his arrival at 09.00am.

Football fans converged on the airport early in the morning, hoping to see with their own eyes the former Danish goalie who had played for Manchester United FC for nearly a decade.

However, they did not have the chance to exchange or pose a photo with their icon as he was directly driven to a luxury hotel in the capital city.

Schmeichel is scheduled to attend a signing ceremony of a cooperation deal between Manchester United FC and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).

He will fly to HCM City the following day to attend the debut of BIDV-Manchester United Bronze Card.

Peter Schmeichel, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Roy Keane, and Paul Scholes created a generation of legends of the British football club.

The Great Dane won five English Premier League titles, three FA Cups and one Champions League title during his performance for Manchester United FC.

This is the first time the former Danish goalie has arrived in Vietnam in his role as the Manchester United FC ambassador.
