Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung has visited the central region to hand over gifts to support local people in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam provinces currently suffering from serious damages caused by floods and storms.

MPI Minister Nguyen Chi Dung offered support to those in need

On October 22, Minister Dung arrived in Le Thuy district of Quang Binh province to check on developments and oversee local authority implementation of solutions to the devastating events.

On the same day, he and a delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment visited households and gave gifts worth VND300 million ($13,000) for people in Cam Xuyen district of Ha Tinh province.

With the determination of leaving no-one behind, the minister also joined the working delegation of the Politburo led by members, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, and head of the government’s Public Administration Reform Steering Committee to visit and encourage people in a number of communes in Quang Tri province. The delegates worked with leaders of Quang Tri People’s Committee to work on the issues surrounding the storms and their consequences.

DPM Binh provided 15 gifts for households and gave VND100 million ($4,350) to the Study Promotion Fund of Tay Giang district. In addition, Minister Dung also handed over VND200 million ($8,700) to support the district in this time of great need.

Meanwhile, the minister and the minister of agriculture and rural development are supporting with VND1 billion ($43,500) and essential goods for people affected by floods and storms in the region.
