The week will present a selection of ten films from ten Latin American countries including international award-winning pieces and featuring some of the most exciting and creative productions to reach the big screen in recent years.

The movies including Macarana (Uruguay), El Benny (Cuba), Panama Canal Stories (Panama), Boy and the World (Brazil), Ilusiones SA - We Fulfill Your Dreams (Mexico), Bad Lucky Goat (Colombia), The House at the End of Time (Venezuela), Vinyl Days (Argentina), Ogu and Mampato in Rapa Nui (Chile), and Good Old Boys (Peru).

Films include many categories – mainstream, comedy, cartoons, documentary and history among others – displaying social life, cultural characteristics of each nation and help Vietnamese understand the cultural diversity of Latin America.

Free tickets can be collected from now at the embassies.

This year’s Latin American Film Week, and the festival, will take place at the National Cinema Centre.

The annual Latin American Film Festival was held for the first time in Hanoi in 2013. The films are screened with original audio and English subtitles.

The programme is co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Cinema Department, the International Cooperation Department and Latin American embassies in Vietnam.
