SEOUL: Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun’s management agency Key East Entertainment has announced that Kim has decided to donate 300 million won (S$362,600) to Danwon High School, reported Korean media.
Three hundred and twenty five students from the school were aboard the Korean ferry Sewol when it sank on April 16.
“Hopefully, the donation will help alleviate the grief felt over the students who died, and help the students who have been saved but have been deeply affected by the incident,” said a representative from the agency.
“Although we are very sad over the deaths of the students, the physical and mental health of the students and teachers who are alive should also be considered, and they should be given help to go back to leading a normal life.
Kim, who will hold a fan meeting at the Singapore Expo on Sunday, had cancelled a planned media conference here out of respect for the victims of the ferry disaster.
However, the fan meeting will be held as scheduled.
