SEOUL: Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan is set to debut his own K-pop boy band later this month, reported Korean media.

The quintet, which is named JJCC, or "Double JC", will be made up of four Korean members and one Chinese member, all of whom are above 1.8 metres in height, and in their 20s.

The actor was apparently heavily involved in the formation of the group as well as the training of its members.

Managed by The Jackie Chan Group Korea, JJCC represents Chan's first foray into the K-pop industry.

The company told Korean media on Monday that it is making the final preparations for the group's debut, adding that JJCC will "exhibit a charm that is very different from other idol groups".
