The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) is closely monitoring and coordinating with Hanoi People's Committee, directing the city's Department of Industry and Trade as well as businesses and large distributors to ensure adequate supplies of essential goods for people.

According to the MoIT, the supply of goods is guaranteed for all situations. The city has 459 markets, 28 trade centres, 123 supermarkets, 1,800 convenience stores, 141 chains, and 2,382 sales points with stable prices, and tens of thousands of grocery stores to serve people’s daily needs in the area.

In addition, the city has reviewed and arranged 1,920 locations in districts and provinces to store supplies and act as mobile sales points when necessary.

Although facing difficulties in human resources and transporting goods, there is a sufficient amount of goods for people for all situations, even for increasing consumption demand.

The ministry recommended people not to hoard goods and refrain from overcrowding retail systems.

Currently, businesses are stocking three times as many goods as they normally do to ensure adequate supply.

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade affirmed that it will continue working with suppliers from other provinces, cities, and Hanoi to increase the supply of goods.

At the same time, the department are also ready to requisition 236 vehicles to promptly deliver goods to points of sale and has directed Hanoi Transport Corporation to support businesses in transporting goods from provinces to Hanoi and from warehouses to points of sale throughout the city.
