A must try dish when you are visiting Vietnam is Pho noodle. Apart from the traditional Pho, there are many notable different recipes of Pho from different provinces; and one of the best versions is dried Pho from Gia Lai Province in the Central Highlands. It gives customers a totally new experience while still keeping that aromatic scent of the traditional Pho.

Good news is that you don’t have to travel all the way to Gia Lai to taste this special version of Pho; it is here in Saigon at Trung Nguyen Coffee Shop, which is located at 7 Nguyen Van Chiem Street in District 1.

Coming here, you will be served Gia Lai dried Pho in a set of three: the main bowl containing noodle, mince pork, fresh salad and fried garlic and onion without any soup, the second bowl is a bit of hot soup with diced beef giving a very Pho scent, and the last is soya paste with chilly infused oil on top.

Diners will now mix the three components together into the main bowl, and then keep stirring until everything has a beautiful brown color. If you have tried traditional Pho before, you would notice a difference between the types of noodle. If Pho noodle is wide and soft, Gia Lai’s recipe offers a thinner and more chewy type.

In addition, diners will also experience a lovely taste of the soup. It’s clear and beautifully seasoned to add flavor to the dried noodle. The saltiness and sweetness of the soya paste gives the Pho an unforgettable taste. Gia Lai dried Pho should be definitely in your check list to try during your time in Vietnam.
