Vietnam’s food ingredient segment is staging a strong comeback and will host the upcoming Food Ingredients (Fi) Vietnam 2022 event, organised by Informa Markets.

The event, to take place on October 12-14 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, is occurring in conjunction with events on beverage ingredients and natural ingredients, in order to provide attendees an unsurpassed opportunity to attend three shows in one location for efficient business and networking.

Attendees will be able to gain valuable insights and inspiration, source innovative ingredients, develop new business relationships, learn from industry experts, and participate in the many show highlights, all of which will help them to grow their business and competitiveness.

The event will also cover the pandemic aftermath, which has affected consumer perception of health issues, thereby increasing the demand for high-quality food and beverage (F&B) ingredients and products that meet health requirements.

As a provider to create a platform and marketplace for global businesses to meet, discover products, trade and grow through major exhibitions, virtual events, online marketplaces, specialist content, and data services, Informa Markets is confident that Fi Vietnam 2022 can contribute to transitioning the government’s policy from vision to action.

This will be carried out by encouraging knowledge transfer and investment to increase the competitiveness and quality of domestic products while bringing Vietnamese F&B brands to regional and international markets to drive further export growth.

Fi Vietnam is a dynamic event for a dynamic market. Since its inception in 2014, it has rapidly grown into the most comprehensive F&B ingredients event in Vietnam. This year, it will bring together more than 5,000 professionals from around Vietnam and beyond, from all industry segments, as well as more than 160 exhibitors from 20 countries.

The Vietnamese food ingredients market has shown ongoing and robust growth across numerous categories since the pandemic peak passed, representing significant business opportunities for local and foreign companies.

According to statistics from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, the average annual consumption of F&B in Vietnam accounts for 15 per cent of GDP and is the largest domestic consumer market. The total retail sales value of related products was estimated to be $54.9 billion in 2021, and Statista forecasts an increase in compound annual growth rate by 9.9 per cent, to $66.3 billion, by 2023.

This is a clear demonstration of the resistance of the Vietnamese economy and its full recovery from the pandemic, and is a prerequisite for Vietnam to become one of the most promising markets for F&B in Asia.
