Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on September 24 for two wind farms with combined capacity of 100 MW in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

Gia Lai – Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on September 24 for two wind farms with combined capacity of 100 MW in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

The two projects have total investment of over 3.6 trillion VND (close to 155.2 million USD). When completed in 2021, they will generate more than 319.5 million kWh of electricity a year.

The project developed by Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Power JSC is set to p an area of 654 hectares and have a capacity of 50 MW, while the project of Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Energy JSC will cover 464 hectares and have the same capacity as the former.

Both wind farms are located in Bau Can commune, Chu Prong district.

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai has submitted 67 wind power projects with total capacity of 4,048.4 MW to relevant authorities to approve their addition to power development plannings. Among them, 14 have been allowed to be included in the province’s power development plan.
