The couples were workers, teachers and laborers in industrial parks, export processing zones, schools and various organizations.

This was the sixth group ceremony to be organised in Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlight of this year’s ceremony was that ten of the most impoverished couples were gifted all necessary items to start a household and support in event of an illness.

The group wedding was organised by the HCM Communist Youth Union in traditional Vietnamese style.

Couples only had to pay VND1 million (US$47) for registration of the ceremony and were able to enjoy a free wedding party, wedding rings, flowers, transport, photo shoot, make-up and an ATM account of VND2 million.

Furthermore, they can join in a training course on how to build a happy family and a sightseeing tour after the wedding.
