Automechanika 2018 was a resounding success |
Automechanika is one of the most successful global trade fairs for the automotive parts and accessories industry. Since its launch in 2017, the exhibition became an important event in Vietnam, drawing great interest from big brands over the world.
Organised for the third time in Vietnam, the content of Automechanika 2019 is more extensive and diversified than ever, including highlights like D1VN’s drift performance, as well as numerous workshops on the management of transport services, repairing, and maintaining vehicles.

Vietnam is one of the most dynamic automotive industries in Southeast Asia. The Vietnamese economy has maintained its high growth momentum, GDP is forecasted to increase by 6.6 per cent in 2019. Moreover, the recent preferential policies of the government, which create more opportunities for international companies to enter, import, and manufacture cars in Vietnam, has significantly contributed to the development of the automobile sector.
This has created numerous opportunities for regional integration for domestic automobile manufacturers. For example, reports of Vietnam’s commercial vehicle distributors show that growth speed of this sector is stable. Vietnam has lured in foreign firms, including Gaz, a Russian commercial vehicle manufacturer, with its the sharp development. Gaz will localise its production through a joint venture with a domestic company.
Therefore, the organiser of Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City estimates that over 60 per cent of exhibitors will present commercial vehicles in the “Truck Competence” category.
AFI Blake from Malaysia specialising in manufacturing brake pads for passenger and commercial vehicles is one of the businesses taking part in Automechanika 2019. The general director of this company, Chong Tze Liang, said: “Demand for commercial vehicles and advanced logistics activities is increasing in Vietnam, just like demand for transnational tourism. Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City trust manufacturers like AFI Blake for the quality of our products, which matches all international standards of safety and reliability.”
Meanwhile, Lars Verswyvel, general director of IST Vietnam, strategic partner of Automechanika 2019, said: “The exhibition is a good opportunity for us to network and study the market demand in order to increase sales in Vietnam and introduce a special product for the commercial vehicle segment. The 'Truck Competence' programme not only contributes to presenting our vehicles, but also to promote business and exchange activities at the fair.”

Other activities at this year's exhibition aim to complement the “Truck Competence” programme, brightening the commercial vehicle segment in Vietnam. Particularly, the Fleet Management Conference will provide useful information to managers, fleet operators, transportation businesses, and automobile manufacturers. Additionally, the management of Big Data in the commercial vehicle industry for cost saving and good performance will be discussed at the conference.
Automechanika 2019 is organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media (MFNE) Limited in collaboration with Chan Chao International Enterprise Group, and Yorkers Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. This is one of the 17 Automechanika fairs held over the world, across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States.
