Hoa Hoi solar power is one of the crowning projects in the celebration of Phu Yen's 30th anniversary |
On June 25, TTP Phu Yen JSC organised the inauguration ceremony of Hoa Hoi solar power plant located in Phu Hoa district, celebrating the closing of seven months of construction. The event was a highlight in the series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Phu Yen province.
Developed by TTP Phu Yen, a joint venture between Truong Thanh Vietnam Group JSC and B.Grimm Group from Thailand, the Hoa Hoi solar power project covers an area of 256 hectares and uses 752,640 PV panels to generate a maximum of 256MWp of energy.
Thanks to the prestigious general contractor China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) monitored by Poyry Switzerland Ltd. and other large partners, the construction was completed 20 days before the deadline.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, general director of TTP Phu Yen, said, “Thanks to the support from the authorities and local residents, TTP Phu Yen could turn has a motivation to transform an arid, empty area into one of the largest renewable energy projects in the country, contributing to national energy security and generating jobs for local people.”
“This project will serve as a basis for other local and foreign investors to continue looking for investment opportunities in this promising province,” said Tuan.

After Hoa Hoi solar power plant, TTP Phu Yen will expand its renewable energy project network to other provinces, namely Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Gia Lai this year, adding to its existing plants in Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces.
B.Grimm plans to raise the proportion of renewable energy in its portfolio to 30 from 12 per cent. B.Grimm aims to have 53 projects with 2,938MW in capacity by 2022, and is seeking another 2,000MW in additional projects. The new projects are going to be in South Korea, Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Phu Yen recently came to be known as an attractive destination for solar power projects. In January 2019, Phu Khanh Solar Power JSC held a ground-breaking ceremony for two solar power plants on the morning of January 8 in the south-central province of Phu Yen.
The project on the Xuan Tho 1 and Xuan Tho 2 solar power plants have been implemented with a total investment capital of nearly VND1.247 trillion and VND1.237 trillion ($54.22 and $53.78 million), respectively.
Each plant has a designed capacity of over 49.6MW and is expected to generate 76.2 million kWh per year.
