Hoi An Ancient Town has officially expanded the town zone for pedestrians and non-motorised vehicles in Nguyen Phuc Chu walking street.

The street is located on the south of Hoai River and at the opposite side of the ancient town. It spreads along An Hoi Sculpture Garden and Nguyen Hoang night market.

A project themed “walking street for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles” has been implemented in Hoi An since 2004.

Initially, the project aims to reduce noise from motor engines and ensure safety for tourists. So far, it has become a typical culture tourism product of Hoi An, greatly contributing to the development of the town’s culture and tourism.

Walking along Nguyen Phuc Chu street, tourists will enjoy the romantic beauty of Hoai River and sculpture artworks, take part in folk games, and buy handicraft products.

The walking street will open daily at 8.30am-11am, 3pm-9.30pm (in summer) and 3pm-9pm (in winter).
