Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) will open a new international route for the first time between Tokyo and Hanoi on March 30, 2014.

The daily service will depart from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport at 2pm and arrive at Tokyo International Airport at around 9pm. The return flight will depart at around 9am and arrive at Noi Bai at noon.

The details are subject to approval by authorities, said the carrier, the eight largest airline in the world by revenue in 2011 and the largest in Japan by passenger numbers in 2012.

The route will be served by Boeing 767 aircraft in the early stages, which will be upgraded to the 787 Dreamliner in June, 2014.

Reservations and ticketing will be open as of December 19, and all fare levels will be ready by the middle of February next year.

ANA also recently introduced its first ever service to Vancouver, Canada. The Japanese airline is expanding to capitalise on the projected increase in demand for both direct and indirect flights between Japan, North America, and Asia.
