K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 was a significant part of a series of events held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Vietnam that took place from October 15 to 18. Jackie Han, CEO of VietnamEvents and Media JSC – a member of HoaBinh Group – and event director for K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 spoke with VIR about the success of the event.

Could you share anything about cooperating with large corporations from other countries, including at K-EXPO Vietnam 2022?
VietnamEvents' vision is to become one of the leading brands in event management, not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia. Therefore, we have cooperated with well-known brands to organise large-scale events.
It is an honour for VietnamEvents to host K-EXPO Vietnam 2022. It is not only a platform for cultural exchange between the two countries but also an opportunity for enterprises to share experiences and cooperate in terms of trade, technology, cosmetics, fashion, agriculture, and food.
What were some of the challenges for VietnamEvents when organising K-EXPO Vietnam 2022?
K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 took place over four days and included three main activities: B2C K-Culture Exhibition, K-EXPO Concert, and B2B Meeting. Therefore, it required us to not only have large human and material resources but also a deep understanding of the cultures, economies, and politics of the two countries. In particular, the biggest challenge for us was the limited setup time. We only had four days to prepare all the categories.
We had to concentrate all of our human resources on the event, which totalled 250 staff. Our team had to coordinate closely to ensure that the event would go smoothly and we also had to make backup plans to mitigate any risks.
How did VietnamEvents contribute to promoting cultural, economic, and political exchanges between the two countries?
Every booth at K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 was imbued with the Land of Kimchi’s culture. As a result, the younger generation from Vietnam had the opportunity to learn more about South Korean culture and experience products from the country. It was also an opportunity for South Korean SMEs to expand their cooperation and develop sales channels, both in Vietnam and in other Southeast Asian countries.
In addition, the K-EXPO Concert only added to the cultural exchange between the two nations. Thousands of fans were immersed in the music at the event.
K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 really contributed to strengthening all aspects of the bilateral relationship.
Can you tell us about the orientation of VietnamEvents for the coming period?
VietnamEvents will continue to reaffirm our position as one of the leading professional event management companies in Vietnam. To facilitate this goal, VietnamEvents is going to focus on service quality improvements in order to meet international standards. In particular, we are going to develop high-quality, well-trained human resources and obtain cutting-edge knowledge and technologies to bring our customers creative and advanced products and services with a Vietnamese twist.
The successful organisation of K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 was a step forward for us to achieve the goal of becoming an internationally respected event management brand.
