According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the FIATA World Congress 2025 will be jointly organised by FIATA and the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) in Hanoi in October 2025.
Stéphane Graber, director general of FIATA, compared the event to the "Olympics of logistics", emphasising its importance for Vietnam's logistics sector and the global logistics community, including investors, port operators, shipping lines, logistics service providers, importers, exporters, and other stakeholders.
FIATA has been working with the World Bank to assess the logistics performance index of various countries, including Vietnam. Currently, FIATA is supporting Vietnam, specifically the VLA, in promoting digital transformation, and aims to contribute to improving Vietnam's logistics capabilities.
"With our expertise, FIATA wishes to provide more support to Vietnam, not only in attracting investment and leveraging Vietnam's geographical advantages for logistics development but also in areas such as human resources training, standardisation of logistics documents, and bills of lading," stated the FIATA director general.
According to VGP, during a visit to Vietnam to prepare for the FIATA World Congress 2025, FIATA president Turgut Erkeskin met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the government headquarters on July 9.

Welcoming the FIATA president, PM Chinh appreciated FIATA's support for VLA in hosting the 2025 FIATA World Congress.
Erkeskin emphasised the crucial role of logistics in today's world and the challenges it faces. He expressed confidence in the Vietnamese government's support for the successful organisation of the upcoming FIATA World Congress in Hanoi.
The FIATA president praised the Vietnam's Logistics Service Development Strategy for 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045, particularly in digital and green transformation and Vietnam's commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050. He suggested that Vietnam should mobilise all social resources to develop the sector.
PM Chinh requested FIATA to share information, advice, and support on digital and green transformation, focusing on solutions for agricultural and industrial logistics, developing Vietnam's maritime fleet, economic-trade-transport corridors, and providing technical assistance to help Vietnam finalise its national logistics service development strategy in 2024.
The PM also asked FIATA to support human resource development for Vietnam's logistics industry and expand training programmes to enhance the capacity of Vietnamese businesses.
PM Chinh emphasised that Vietnam is focusing on developing strategic infrastructure, including logistics infrastructure and high-quality human resources. He affirmed that the Vietnamese government would cooperate with domestic and international partners to support and facilitate economic, investment, trade, and service cooperation activities, with a particular focus on logistics service development to bring greater benefits to all parties involved.
