Over 120 exhibitors representing both domestic and international brands will gather at the Vietnam International Bakery Show (VIBS) in Ho Chi Minh City from December 11 to 14.
Vietnam's bakery market rises with fresh opportunities

This year's exhibition marks a grand return after its inaugural event in 2019. Featuring nearly 200 booths, the exhibition promises to provide opportunities for trade and business promotion among bakery enterprises both locally and abroad.

According to the Taipei Bakery Association, Vietnam's bakery industry, in particular the pastry segment, is one of the fastest-growing and most competitive sectors in the consumer goods industry. Coupled with Vietnam's large and youthful population, it's easy to see why the country is now considered one of the most promising bakery markets in Southeast Asia.

A report from May by market research and consulting firm 6Wresearch revealed Vietnam's bakery industry is experiencing growth due to shifting consumer preferences and urbanisation. As urban lifestyles become busier, there is a rising demand for convenient and ready-to-eat bakery products. The adoption of Western-style bakery items, such as bread, pastries, and cakes, has become increasingly popular among Vietnamese consumers. The market is also benefiting from a growing café culture and the desire for diverse and innovative bakery products, leading to a surge in bakery business ventures.

A key focus for businesses in this sector is the search for new solutions and technologies to enhance competitiveness and diversify products, as well as pull in customers. VIBS 2024 will showcase the latest trends in the field while featuring a wide range of products, from modern baking machinery and high-quality ingredients to finished baked goods. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a comprehensive view of the rapidly growing Vietnamese bakery industry, along with quality products from the international market.

The exhibition will also serve as a platform for talented and professional bakers from Vietnam and around the world to showcase their most creative skills in baking competitions.
