This strategic move allows ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, the plant engineering and construction specialist of the ThyssenKrupp Group, to further integrate and regionalise its business worldwide.
This also follows the ThyssenKrupp Group’s overall focus on integrating its businesses more closely to create sustainable value as a diversified industrial group.
By combining its operations in Vietnam, ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions is taking the next step to become a leading provider in the areas of plant engineering and construction for customers in the region.
“With our experience in large-scale plant construction and engineering, we are now streamlining our core capabilities for present and future customers in Asia and the Pacific. We can now offer diversified services to help our customers achieve their goals for sustainable growth,” said Jan Lueder, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (Asia Pacific).
“The integration of our businesses in Vietnam is key to our overall strategy to expand our Industrial Solutions portfolio in strategic growth markets,” Lueder added.
The new ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (Vietnam) will bring together world-class engineering expertise, and a deep understanding of the local market, to customers in the country.
The company will also offer greater investment in after-sales infrastructure, stronger project management capabilities and unique end-to-end delivery services.
With the integration, ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (Vietnam) will be the single point of contact for plant engineering, construction and project management services to the chemical, oil and gas, cement, mining and materials industries.
Stephan Pruetzmann, general director of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions Vietnam, said, “As Vietnam grows, our customers’ needs are evolving and growing as well. As one company, we are now best positioned to address these through our diversified plant capabilities and to align with our customers’ growth now and in the future.”
ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (Vietnam) will cover two business units: Process Technologies and Resource Technologies.
Process Technologies will focus on engineering, procurement and construction for chemical, refinery and other industrial plants, while Resource Technologies will offer a comprehensive product portfolio and a wide sales and service network to customers in the mining, cement, mineral processing and materials handling industries.
Over the past 20 years, ThyssenKrupp’s Industrial Solutions businesses have built a strong heritage in Vietnam.
This includes being selected as a consortium partner to PetroVietnam to deliver engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a fertiliser expansion project at the Phu My Industrial Zone in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The upgrade to the NH3 unit will add 90,000 tonnes a year to the total ammonia output of the plant by 20 per cent, from the current 450,000 tonnes to 540,000 tonnes annually.
The businesses have built thirteen chemical and cement plants in Vietnam. They have also delivered machinery and technology for the cement, mining and sugar industries, and have contributed EPC services to landmark projects in Vietnam, such as the Nam Con Son gas pipeline project.
The six cement plants built by ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions today contribute over 20 per cent to the total cement capacity in the country.
