Vietnamese logistic startup Logivan took over 11 other entrepreneurs from across Vietnam to win the audience vote at Pitch@Palace Vietnam 1.0, which for the first time ever took place in Ho Chi Minh City on December 3.

Witnessed by the Duke of York, Logivan will represent Vietnam to take part in Pitch@Palace Global 3.0, at St. James’s Palace in London on December 12, 2018.

“There are a number of organisations, including starting and scaling businesses, and we are one of those numbers, but we are trying to be different in the sense that we are trying to work with the businesses, grow them, and not seek to only invest in them but to enhance their prospects of growth. I am very impressed by what I have seen today, with the range of different ideas, and I think there is a lot more in Vietnam in the coming time,” Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, told VIR.

The Duke added that the most important thing was that this programme is in Vietnam, for Vietnam, and with Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

“We will continue to diversify the country’s economy and increase the connection between Vietnamese entrepreneurs and the global community,” he added.

Pitch@Palace was founded by the Duke of York in 2014 as a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of entrepreneurs.

The programme guides, helps, and connects entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses with a global network of potential supporters, including CEOs, influencers, angels, investors, mentors, and business partners.

Pitch@Palace Vietnam 1.0 had a broad technology theme and showcased companies that have developed innovative technologies across a wide range of areas, including biotech and medical technology, consumer technology, and the Internet of Things, industrial technology, as well as artificial intelligence and robotics.

Pitch@Palace Vietnam 1.0 was sponsored by Dragon Capital, Jardine Matheson, and Standard Chartered Bank who have been supporting the growth of Vietnamese business and entrepreneurs for over 20 years and are excited to witness the growth of the next generation of successful Vietnamese businesses.

"By launching Pitch@Palace Vietnam 1.0, Dragon Capital, Jardine Matheson, and Standard Chartered are delighted to assist in an event which facilities entrepreneurs in accelerating their business, introducing them to new investor segments and influential networks who can help them grow their business," said Alain Cany, chairman of Jardine Matheson Vietnam.
