The freshly remodelled ballroom, pre-function room, and conference rooms at the InterContinental Saigon pay respect to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and its surrounding nature through the national emblem of Vietnam, the lotus.
The multimillion-dollar restoration of 2,560 square metres of indoor and outdoor event meeting space – featuring six function rooms and an outdoor terrace ranging from the modest Hon Ong meeting room to the vast Grand Ballroom – offers a new frontier for Ho Chi Minh City's flourishing MICE.
General manager Justin Malcolm shared, "Our new Grand Ballroom and conference centre will set a new benchmark for spectacular, personalised events and those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Ho Chi Minh City. I am thrilled to open the doors for all to see."
The freshly restored conference rooms set a new standard for gatherings in Ho Chi Minh City since they are completely encased in exquisite wood with metal accents. All conference rooms and boardrooms have a multifunctional cabinet with a display space and storage compartments on each side.
When not in use, double sliding doors with ribbed glass hide the television and highlight the display space. When visitors choose to utilise the television, sliding doors expose an 85-inch interactive television with video conferencing features. The use of these sliding doors for writing eliminates the need for extra flipcharts.
The Grand Ballroom in its banquet set up |
At the heart of the event rooms is a sophisticated, modern, and spectacular 818-sq.m, column-free grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 1200 guests for life's most momentous and unforgettable occasions, including gala dinners, award ceremonies, corporate conferences, unique weddings, and more. It is outfitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and may be partitioned into two sections for more private gatherings.
The grand ballroom is adorned with an enormous interactive chandelier of 7,980 individually hung crystal lightbulbs that, when seen from below, resemble shimmering water. Using an RGBW LED lighting management system, the chandelier is equipped with its own state-of-the-art adaptable lighting technology that can be altered to generate various moods.
The InterContinental Saigon's grand ballroom has a dazzling 8.5m x 4.5m LED wall – the biggest screen in town – and with its modern, awe-inspiring architecture, every celebration will be a spectacular and intensely sensual event.
The pre-function lobby |
Upon entering the pre-function lobby, visitors will be delighted by the Mekong River-inspired cloth ceiling installation. This element ebbs and flows over the whole space, giving the area a delicate and airy feel. The transparent fabric interacts with the specially designed lighting effects and provides a number of configurable colours and visual cues to further establish the desired atmosphere.
The pattern of the carpet in the coastal colours of navy, beige, and yellow – which reflect the aquatic environment in which the lotus thrives – covers the floor, while the ornate columns depict the stems of the lotus as they stretch to the surface of the water to find sunlight.
The business hub |
Located next to the pre-function area, a new business hub was designed to meet the ever-changing demands of visitors. This transformable area with built-in ovens, a refrigerator, and a spacious counter may be utilised for a master culinary lesson. This lovely space can be used as a conference room with a lounge or as a pre-function auxiliary space.
Located in the central business and cultural district, InterContinental Saigon has been designated Vietnam's leading conference hotel for ten consecutive years. With an airport-to-hotel commute of less than 30 minutes, time is freed for any client to focus on business.
