BAC A BANK was praised for its pioneering work at the Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards 2020

The awards event highlights Vietnamese financial institutions’ great contributions to the community via specific activities such as educational development, environmental protection, rural development, and child protection and development.

The award panelists, including representatives from the government, ministries, central agencies, business associations, and fintech and banking experts, conferred the award titled “The Bank for the Community” to BAC A BANK on November 26 for its many practical and sustainable community-oriented activities.

In 2020, BAC A BANK has pioneered in providing financial assistance for the country’s fight against COVID-19. Inspired by the bank’s activities and investment projects, many other businesses have worked with the government in this battle.

BAC A and TH Group, for which it provides investment consultancy, as well as the Fund for Vietnamese Stature, presented VND5 billion ($217,400) and one million fresh milk glasses in a programme to Vietnamese people isolated due to pandemic effects, and those working against the coronavirus.

The gifts also included two ventilators worth nearly VND2 billion ($87,000) for the Nghe An General Friendship Hospital. At the same time, the bank’s branches in the provinces and cities of Haiphong, Danang, Quang Binh, Ha Giang, Thua Thien-Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City have also launched a programme with one-day salary for each staff so as to support those directly affected by the pandemic.

With a focus laid on promoting social security, this year BAC A BANK and TH Group also presented VND5 billion ($217,400) to the country’s Fund for the Poor, and offered many gifts to residents in the central region badly affected by natural disasters.

The bank’s partnership with the Fund for Vietnamese Stature, which began in 2017, is helping people out of difficulties in remote areas, supporting poor patients and children, and constructing community-oriented works such as roads, schools, clinics, and bridges. Moreover, the pair are continuing to implement a series of programmes on raising awareness for labourers while fostering talents and creating initiatives for young people.

Over the past 26 years of development, BAC A BANK has attached special importance to humanism in all activities across business and social security. The bank’s “For the community” motto has been comprehensively reflected in its investment consultancy goals for its customers operating in the high-tech agricultural sector and in rural development. This is aimed to help improve the awareness of the customers, and create pivotal and sustainable values.

In its human resources development process, the bank has been placing humanity at the centre of its concern as the core for development. All of its policies about recruitment, salary, bonus, and insurance are transparent. All internal activities are also organised based on a periodical basis, contributing to further cementing solidarity among the group’s people.

With its big and unceasing contributions, the bank has also honourably received many high-profile certificates of merit from many ministries and central agencies, as well as from many domestic and international organisations. BAC A BANK has been recognised as a bank for the community within the Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards several times in the last five years.

The awards event was organised by International Data Group in parallel with the Vietnam Retail Banking Forum under the auspices of the Vietnam Bankers Association. The award aims to seek and praise banks and financial service suppliers that have performed excellently and made outstanding contributions to the Vietnamese finance and banking sector.
