With the ground-breaking ceremony taking place this week, INSEE Vietnam will enable more than 700 pupils from poor families in rural areas to go to school, helping their ethnic community in accessing crucial education. Total investment of the project amounts to around VND62 billion ($2.7 million), of which the cement maker will sponsor VND20 billion ($870,000) to build the first phase of the project.

The planned Kien Binh 2 school is a complex project that includes a bridge, a connecting transportation system, and other school facilities like 24 fully-equipped classrooms, utilities, a multipurpose-building, an administration office, and more.

INSEE Vietnam as a sponsor is accompanied by Kien Luong People’s Committee, the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3 of BASF Vietnam, and the design consultancy of the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC).

The construction project, which is designed according to green building criteria, fully uses INSEE cement and was awarded the LOTUS Green Building Certificate at Gold level by the VGBC.

People are one of the core values of INSEE Vietnam, thus supporting education is also one of the company’s top concerns on the journey towards sustainable development.

Over the past few years, INSEE Vietnam has sponsored many such construction projects, such as the over 1,000-square-metre Long Thoi youth playground project in Nha Be district and the 300sq.m kindergarten yard project in Tho Chu Island commune in Phu Quoc Island.

In addition, over the past 10 years, INSEE Vietnam has successfully organised the INSEE Prize, a prestigious competition for scientific student research in sustainable development.

INSEE Vietnam is a member of Siam City Cement Pcl., one of the market leaders for construction materials in the region. The company has more than 1,000 employees working across five different cement production sites and its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.

Since 1994, INSEE Vietnam has been one of the leading cement and drymix producers, and waste management companies. The group’s sustainable products have been used in iconic buildings and infrastructure projects, as well as countless housing and commercial developments across the south of the country.
