BAC A BANK makes debut of Chip Contactless cards

BAC A BANK has launched its own debit cards with contactless technology to optimise safety and security, and boost the speed of transaction processing.

To meet the growing demand of customers, on December 6, BAC A BANK has launched its new card integrated with contactless chip technology, with a WiFi icon on the front of the card. The card allows customers to softly touch or wave the card on a contactless POS/mPOS machine to make a payment, instead of sliding the card as usual.

In addition, customers can skip the step of typing in the PIN code for transactions valued at under VND1 million($43.50). Card Contactless are very popular in the world.

Apart from functions that can be found in ordinary debit cards, the BAC A BANK Chip Contactless debit card also boasts many other strong points, such as high processing speed, shortened transaction time; strengthened security, reduction of risks of being imitated and faked. Especially the card can help users limit physical contact in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of December 6, BAC A BANK’s debit cards will officially shift from magnetic to Chip Contactless cards through the issuance of new cards and replacement of existing magnetic cards with simple procedures.

Accordingly, customers are required to bring along their identity card or passport to a branch or transaction office of BAC A BANK to change the cards or register to obtain a new card. The process is free of charge.

From December 6 to January 20, 2022, BAC A BANK will also offer gifts to customers who change their cards. Specifically, the first 3,000 customers receiving new Chip Contactless cards will be given VND50,000 ($2.20) to their bank account.
