The groundbreaking ceremony for Tien Thanh Industrial Park (IP) took place in Tien Lang district, Haiphong on April 18 by developer Tien Thanh IP Investment JSC.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Van Binh, chairman of Tien Thanh IP Investment, stated that the company aims to build a modern, green, and smart IP, where high-value, environmentally friendly industries converge.

"We hope to garner the trust and long-term cooperation from the business community both domestically and internationally," said Binh.

Tien Thanh IP covers an area of 410.46 hectares, with a total investment of $184 million. The IP will boast synchronised technical infrastructure on par with international standards.

The park is focussing on attracting clean, high-tech industries, mostly involved in the supporting and manufacturing sectors.

The development boasts several advantages in terms of its location, as it converges with key transportation links in the more industrialised centre of the northern coastal region, offering favourable connectivity for trading with domestic and international partners.

Additionally, it should meet the diverse needs of investors with its efficient logistics centre, able to facilitate the quick and easy transport of goods while attracting high-quality labour.

Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Haiphong People's Committee, hopes that in the future, the park will enhance Haiphong's status and spur economic development in the city’s southern area while contributing to the local coffers. Tens of thousands of high-quality jobs, with 30,000 anticipated to be the initial number, are also expected to be created.

Haiphong is currently home to 18 IPs covering a total area of about 7,100ha. 11 parks are already in operation, with the average occupancy rate surpassing 70 per cent.

Tien Thanh IP has been methodically planned, ensuring synchronisation in technical and social infrastructure. The entire wastewater treatment system, telecommunications, and electricity and water supply all meet international standards.

The road connecting Provincial Road 354 in Tien Lang district to National Highway No.10 in Vinh Bao district is expected to open up a strategic transportation axis, shortening transportation time while increasing the attractiveness of the entire area for domestic and foreign investment capital.

The park has a particular focus on environmental protection, with green technology solutions in wastewater treatment, waste management, and the use of renewable energy such as solar and wind power, making Tien Than an example to follow of a green and sustainable industrial park.

"Tien Thanh IP is a key aspect of Haiphong's development strategy. Once completed, it will provide many opportunities for businesses and workers to contribute to the city's development, creating stable and long-term growth for the entire northern coastal region," said Binh.

Vice Chairman Tho urged the developer to complete the construction as soon as possible to begin partial infrastructure leasing from the third quarter of next year.

"Haiphong is committed to creating the best conditions for businesses in its IPs and economic zones, particularly for Tien Thanh IP Investment JSC to accelerate the construction progress. At the same time, the city will regularly monitor and promptly support investors in resolving arising issues during the implementation of any undertaking in the park," he said.

The investment project to build and operate the infrastructure of Tien Thanh IP was approved according to Decision No.647/QD-TTG in May 2022, and was granted the Investment Registration Certificate by Haiphong Economic Zones Management Authority (HEZA) in June of that year, at a scale of 410.46 hectares in Tien Thanh and Cap Tien communes, Tien Lang district, Haiphong.
