Germany’s largest arline Lufthansa will stop its flights to Ho Chi Minh City on March 25 in a bid to restructure its worldwide service network.

The carrier said those in Ho Chi Minh City who want to fly Lufthansa to Europe had to fly another airline to Bangkok, then take a Lufthansa flight to Europe.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s office at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will open until April 30.

The flag carrier or Germany started to fly to the city in 1991. With its exit, Air France is now the only European passenger carrier that operates aircraft in the Vietnamese market. Before the leaving, it had several flights from Europe to Ho Chi Minh City with a transit in Bangkok, as well as one indirect flight from Frankfurt to the city.
