Kites over ancient town of Hoi An
160 colorful kites beautified the annual kite flight competition 2013 at the Cua Dai beach, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, on May 18th.
It is the 9th consecutive year the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa holds the contest, with the participation of 20 teams from Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh city, to popularize activities for culture, sports and tourism in Hoi An city and Quang Nam province to local and foreign tourists. The event is also to welcome the 123rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
In this year’s contest, participants flew their kites depicting Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos and the national sovereignty over sea and islands and dissemination of information on the environmental protection.
