GDP posts fastest pace in eight years, Cabinet member says

The national economy continued recovery in 2015 with the GDP estimated to expand 6.68%, the fastest pace in eight years, highlighted Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh.

Minister Vinh made the point on Monday in Ha Noi at the Government’s December meeting joined by local leaders.

Positive economic recovery would help create “momentum for development” in the next five years, he added.

As reported, Mr. Vinh will present a report summarizing the Government’s performance, outcomes of the implementation of the Resolution No. 01 and the 2015 socio-economic development plan.

Mr. Vinh went on to say that macro-economy remained stable while major balances were maintained.

Other positive signals included low inflation and consumer price indexes, stable financial market, better management over State budget collection and spending, and higher budget revenue.

Noticeably, the national economy continued recovery in 2015 with the GDP estimated to expand 6.68%, mainly spurred by strong industrial production.

Agricultural and rural development received due attention. National target program on building of new rural areas attained positive outcomes.

The economic restructuring was implemented positively. The investment environment and global competitive index were improved remarkably. The mobilization of development investment capital was higher especially the attraction and disbursement of Foreign Direct Investment.

Moreover, the social welfare policies were ensured. The legal system was perfected. The administrative procedure reform achieved positiveoutcomes.

The diplomatic work and international integration got better. Political security and social welfare were safeguarded.
