The event is aimed at luring more visitors, boosting participation from 200,000 to two million, to the central coastal city of Danang for the festival’s duration.
The event will include five exquisite fireworks shows on Saturdays. The programmes will be broadcasted live on Vietnam Television. The highlight of the festival, the fireworks competition will feature the participation of eight teams from the US, France, China, and Vietnam.
In addition, a series of festivities, including the International Cuisine Festival, colourful street festivals, the Cham culture festival and a beer festival will be organised to heat up the atmosphere in-between the much-anticipated Saturdays.
Dang Minh Truong, vice chairman of Sun Group, said, “We will mobilise all of our resources to successfully hold DIFF 2017, making this event one of the largest fireworks festivals in Asia. DIFF is aimed at wooing millions of travellers to the city in the two summer months of 2017 and spreading Danang’s reputation as a city of firework festivals in 10 years.”
