Cabinet members vow to foster reforms

Vietnam’s new government cabinet has been finalised and is ready to steer the nation on its development path towards 2020.

The new leaders are expected to accelerate reforms, ushering in a new era of progress for a prosperous Vietnam. In the new cabinet, five members retain the seal of office they have held since 2011. These are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien. Meanwhile, the remaining government members are newly elected.
