The PM will meet the business community via a webinar tomorrow |
The webinar will see the participation of representatives from the Government Office, the ministries of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, and Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the State Bank of Vietnam, among others.
From the side of businesses, representatives from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vingroup, Masan Consumer, FPT, Truong Hai, PetroVietnam, and Electricity of Vietnam, and others will be present.
The event is organised as enterprises are suffering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the disruption of supply chains, suspended operations, and cancellation of orders, pushing many to and over the brink of bankruptcy.
Statistics published by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam show that in the first seven months of this year, over 80,000 businesses have withdrawn from the market. The worst-hit sectors included automobile and motorbike retail and repair (4,220 businesses shut down), the manufacturing and processing industry (1,325 businesses), and construction (1,006 businesses).
