Some dealers of VinFast Chevrolet announced the offering price of a standard Fadil model at VND395 million ($17,170). They also started to receive deposits of around VND20 million ($870) for this model, which is in the same segment with small hatchbacks like Huyndai Grand i10, Kia Morning, Toyota Wigo, Mitsubishi Mirage, and Suzuki Celerio.
Fadil is a familiar sight for Vietnamese customers. It is made by the new Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast, and is based on the form of Opel Karls, which was developed on the same foundation as the Chevrolet Spark.
The grille bears VinFast's V logo, under which lies the fog lamp cluster, following the design of currently popular models.
Size of Fadil is 3.675 x 1.632 x 1.495m (length x width x height) with the spindle at 2.385 mm. This model is smaller than the Hyundai Grand i10 that has the dimension of 3.765 x 1.660 x 1.505m.
The Fadil sports a 1.4 litre engine with four cylinders and a capacity of 98 horsepowers.
The rims on the Fadil are 15 inches and are equipped with disc brakes on the front wheels and rear drums for the back wheels, complementing a suit of other safety functions. There are two airbags for the standard version, while the premium model has six airbags and a parking sensor. VinFast expects to launch both versions of the Fadil this month.
