Viettel Global reports widespread growth for 2024

The report revealed that the audited revenue had not changed much compared to the figure in its self-report. The company's revenue from sales and services reached nearly VND35.4 trillion ($1.4 billion) in 2024, up 25 per cent on-year and six times higher than the global telecommunications growth rate of 4.1 per cent, according to GSMA intelligence.

On average, VGI earned a daily revenue of VND97 billion ($3.8 million). All markets registered high growth in revenue from sales and service provision, with Viettel Burundi increasing by 55 per cent, Viettel Haiti increasing by 23 per cent, and Viettel Mozambique increasing by 21 per cent.

Alongside positive revenue growth, consolidated pre-tax profits hit VND10.6 trillion ($414.5 million), marking an on-year increase of 175 per cent. Consolidated after-tax profits were VND7.2 trillion ($281.6 million), up 335 per cent, while undistributed after-tax profits reached VND2.3 trillion ($90 million).

VGI's implementation of digital services made a positive contribution to the company’s growth last year, with its e-wallet services growing by 57 per cent.

Nine e-wallet companies owned by Viettel Global exhibited impressive growth in revenue on-year. E-Mola in Mozambique saw its revenue climb by 98 per cent, Lumicash in Burundi rose by 50 per cent, while E-money in Cambodia increased by 33 per cent. Super apps in nine markets also recorded positive performance. MyID by Viettel Myanmar has become the most popular mobile app in the nation with 40 million users.

Viettel Mozambique climbed to the top spot in terms of mobile subscribers, e-wallet subscribers, and mobile revenue last year. There are presently seven markets where Viettel Global holds the top position.
