This is a practical activity aimed at equipping the young generation with essential safety skills to protect themselves and assist those around them in the face of common risks such as drowning, fire incidents, and natural disasters.
Tokio Marine Insurance Vietnam has successfully organised a series of in-person sharing sessions, such as those at Chu Van An High-Quality Secondary School on May 13 and at Nguyen Gia Thieu Secondary School on May 14 in Hanoi's Long Bien district, engaging over 1,000 students.
During the events, speakers from TMIV directly delivered guidance, shared knowledge, and engaged in interactive discussions with students on two main topics: earthquake preparedness and drowning prevention, both of which have shown an increasing trend in recent years.

According to the Ministry of Health, an average of more than 2,000 children in Vietnam die from drowning each year between 2016 and 2024.
Recognising this urgency, TMIV implemented the initiative to provide students with foundation knowledge to help them understand the causes of accidents and how to effectively avoid them.
Through the sessions, students actively participated in discussions, shared opinions, and learned self-rescue swimming skills as well as how to respond in emergencies involving drowning victims.
Additionally, the topic of earthquake preparedness- though not yet widely in Vietnam- has attracted strong attention due to its global rise.
Students explored the causes and impacts of earthquakes and were guided through essential safety measures. The sharing session became lively and engaging as students enthusiastically joined practical exercises and simulated scenarios for earthquake response in various contexts, such as at home, schoolyards, or coastal areas with potential tsunami threats.

The programme has been highly appreciated by school management board.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, principal of Chu Van An High-Quality Secondary School, remarked, “We sincerely thank the company for organizing such a meaningful and practical programme, which helps our students become more resilient in the face of life's risks.”
Sharing similar view, Bui Thi Nguyen Ngoc, vice principal of Nguyen Gia Thieu Secondary School, noted, “Earthquakes are becoming a growing concern in the context of climate change. Equipping students with safety knowledge and skills is truly essential. TMIV has delivered a helpful high-quality and humane programme.”
