Songhan Incubator and Sun* Startups to launch Startup Incubation Programme in May

The subjects of the programme are startups in Hanoi being in the pre-seed or seed stage having IT applications.

During the two-month programme, startups will be trained in theory and practice solving the key problems they are facing in a creative manner. The content of the training includes idea verification, business model, market research, market share hypothesis, customer persona, customer journey, distribution channels, financial projection, and pitch deck, among others.

Startups are expected to graduate with the mindset of innovative business and the capacity to make plans for the next step in their teams' development.

In addition, startups will get other attractive benefits such as the two-year AWS Promotional Credit and one-year business support of $11,500 through the partner Amazon Web Services; legal consultation for business establishment; contact with domestic and international investment funds within the network of the two; commercialisation of products and services, human resources development, sustainable market development, and others.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, head of Sun* Startups, said, “Our mission is to become a key and reliable partner of IT startups. We focus on the incubation stage because startups often lack the most resources in this stage such as resources for solution development, offices, and thoughts of startup. Sun* is strong in these resources. Songhan Incubator (SHi) has experts and can support in output for solutions for startups, thus enabling them to prepare for the acceleration phase."

Ly Dinh Quan, CEO of SHi, said, “SHi has launched six incubator programmes and five batches for acceleration over the past three years with the support of international organisations such as PUM (the Netherlands), Swiss EP, and Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF), as well as 844 national schemes. We are interested in partnering with Sun* to share incubation experience and develop startup incubation programmes to create the best conditions for startups to develop their projects.”

This is the first co-operation between the two sides. On March 11, 2020, the two sides signed an MoU on co-operation in support development of startups. The co-operation is expected to create a driving force for startups in technology application, innovation, and then help them make positive changes in life.

The registration of the programme will be from March 16 to April 20, 2020.

Songhan Incubator is one of the first private incubators in Vietnam. In three years of operations, SHi has supported 57 startups in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City, and eight startups successfully called for nearly $2 million of investment, and over 30 startups get connectivity with resources and markets of over $1 million via network of partners, Techfests and investment promotion events.
