Sojitz to develop green IPs in Dong Nai

Dong Nai People's Committee held a meeting with Sojitz on the project on June 11. The project will focus on promoting renewable energy in industrial parks (IPs) and improving the efficiency of waste and wastewater treatment.

The plan will be implemented in both new and existing IPs developed and operated by Sojitz. The Japanese company is a joint venture developer in Long Duc Industrial Park in Long Thanh district in Dong Nai.

The green IP model has been successfully applied by Sojitz in Kobe City, Japan, and now it wants to introduce the model to Dong Nai through cooperation with Kobe City. The two localities boast similar conditions in terms of industrial development, aviation, and seaport services.

Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People's Committee, spoke of her admiration for the project as it aims to promote the development of green and smart industry in the area. She assigned relevant departments and agencies to collaborate with Sojitz to prepare for the upcoming singing between Kobe City and Dong Nai.

The move is expected to meet the rising demand of investors for green manufacturing and carbon emission reduction, and make a significant contribution to Vietnam's net-zero goal by 2050.
