Nearly 100 motorcycle racers from 19 clubs across the country will take part in the second Vietnam Motor Cub Prix (VMCP)-Rebel Cup in the southern province of Binh Duong on October 29-30.

The Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF) announced this news at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on October 21.

The race will be modeled on other popular Asian racing events such as Malaysia’s Petronas Cub Prix and the Asian Road Racing Championships.

Tran Minh Quy, a VCF official, said this is Vietnam’s biggest motorcycle racing event to date, with a total cash prize of up to VND200 million.

During the event, motorcycle-racing fans will see riders in action on the world’s top superbikes, carving up dirt tracks, and amazing fans with burnouts and wheelies.

The Yamaha R1, Yamaha R125, Yamaha R15 2012, Honda CBR1000R 2012, Honda DN 01, Suzuki GSX R600 2011 and the Ducati 848 Evo 2011, will be just some of the bikes featured at the VMCP Motor Show.
