Breathing a sigh of relief after getting vaccinated on June 26, Do Thi Kim Loan, head of the Accounting Department of the brewery said, “I live in the Go Vap area, which is now considered a hot spot of the epidemic area recently, so I live in constant fear. When the factory informed me about the vaccination, I was very happy to receive priority. I was even more reassured when the medical staff told me that we were vaccinated with vaccines sponsored by the Japanese government."

Loan is one of nearly 1,000 workers in Tay Bac Cu Chi Industrial Zone in Ho Chi Minh City who got inoculated, as part of the city's largest-ever COVID-19 vaccination drive. She is working at the first SABECO plant eligible for vaccination support.

Loan understood that getting vaccinated was to not only protect her against the disease but to also limit its spread to others as Ho Chi Minh City is currently a hotspot in the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreaks.

As Vietnam accelerates its COVID-19 vaccination programme as the next crucial step to spur the national economy, SABECO is looking to contribute to the mobilisation of more vaccines for its 12,000 employees across the country.

Distancing in accordance with the 5K regulations of the Ministry of Health

“Being among the first to be vaccinated, we feel very secure and believe that the results will be satisfactory for all workers. After being informed about the vaccination programme by Ho Chi Minh City authorities for export processing zones and industrial zones, we have immediately begun drawing up a list of workers who had already been vaccinated in the brewery and received great support from most employees. Therefore, even when we were only officially notified a day before the vaccination, we were still able to prepare everything in accordance with the regulations and requirements of the Ministry of Health,” said Nguyen Huu Loc, director of Cu Chi Brewery.

He added that they used the brewery's spacious and airy cafeteria for the vaccination and installed all the necessary set up to keep everything safe and smooth, with specific and clear signposts.
