SABECO launched Community Care to support frontline health workers and the Vietnamese community overcome the pandemic |
The COVID-19 pandemic has been pressuring the lives of people and placing tremendous burden on public healthcare systems. Thus, more efforts should be made to protect fronline healthcare workers and the affected groups in the community. In this context, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for businesses and organisations to contribute millions of Social Security Packages to disadvantaged households.
Responding to the call, SABECO and the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Central Committee are implementing the Community Care programme from August 19 to 26 in virus-hit southern localities like Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Can Tho, and Khanh Hoa as well as other isolation areas such as Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, Soc Trang. The programme aims to protect vulnerable groups and fronline heroes during the fight against the pandemic.
Accordingly, the programme is donating seven MEK-ics MV2000 EVO 5 Korea anti-invasive and non-invasive ventilator machines; 65,000 N95 medical masks and 4-piece protective gears; 35,500 hand-sanitiser bottles and 20,000 boxes of purified water to support frontliners during this critical time.
Meanwhile, in partnership with MM Mega Market, VYF members, and local youth, SABECO will also deliver and distribute 5,000 essential packages with total value of VND2 billion($86,960) to 5,000 affected families in quarantine zones in eight cities. The total contribution of medical equipment and essientials packages for COVID-19 prevention and control has reached VND10 billion ($434,780).

On the same note, Nguyen Hai Minh, permanent vice president of the VYF Central committee, shared, “In the early days of the pandemic in Vietnam in 2021, the VYF Central Committee has called on all levels of VYF, members and the Vietnamese youth to support the government and authorities in tackling COVID-19. VYF has launched many programmes and activities in accordance with the 'Sharing affection, joining hands to overcome the pandemic' programme."
