The organisations include the Ministry of Planning and Investment's (MPI) Agency of Enterprise Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Agro-Processing and Market Development Authority, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance’s Centre for Trade Promotion and Investment, and Grab Vietnam.
The programme will promote the sales of agri-products on digital platforms like Grab to support virus-hit localities overcome the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the programme will organize practical activities to raise awareness of digital transformation among businesses, cooperatives, business households, and farmers.
The initiative is part of the MPI's plan to support firms in digital transformation for the 2021-2025 period.
Earlier, Grab announced the GrabConnect project to bring more local agri-produce to consumers nationwide. The project will improve the consumption of local agri-produce as well as stimulating digital transformation efforts, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector. GrabConnect has initiated the first campaign to sell 300 tonnes of Luc Ngan lychees in the northern province of Bac Giang via its platform.
