Hanoi - The Asia's premier golf tournament - International Series Vietnam 2023 - will take place in Cam Ranh, the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, from April 13-16, marking its return to Vietnam after seven years.
As part of the Asian Tour and the International Series closely affiliated with LIV Golf, the tournament will bring together 156 golfers.
This year's event will feature four days of competition. After two days of play, golfers from the 65th place will advance to the final two rounds to compete for a total prize worth up to 2 million USD. Over 1,000 spectators are expected to come to the event.
Over the past five years, the standing of golf in Vietnam has shifted. With many new golf courses being built, along with practice costs being much reduced, the number of Vietnamese golfers has increased rapidly.
At present, Vietnam has more than 60,000 golfers, four times the number in 2015. Along with the nearly 100 golf courses that have been put into operation, it is enough to show the outstanding development of this sport in recent times.
The hosting of the tournament presents a great opportunity to popularise the images of Vietnam and Khanh Hoa province in particular to international friends.
It is a time when the entire golf community need to come together to prove why Vietnam has been continuously voted as "Asia's Most Attractive Golf Destination" and "World's Most Attractive Golf Destination”. Only then can Vietnamese golf have a place on the world golf map, as well as expect bigger tournaments of the Asia Tour, DP World Tour or PGA Tour to come to the country in the future.
