The 2019-2020 school year is undoubtedly a year without precedent for all educationalists in general due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time students had the longest stay-at-home period and had to make lessons and tests online. However, with the great effort of all students, the consent and support of parents, as well as the efforts to bring innovative and flexible methods of VAS teachers and staff; they have completed the school year with proud achievements.
Though online learning presents an exciting yet challenging experience for students, it has opened up a great opportunity for them to approach modern learning methods via the digital platform and cultivate self-awareness and self-motivation in studying and doing research. Having to maintain the flow of learning under difficult circumstances has in fact fostered their ability to be flexible and adaptable to all situations and changes – the vital skills for them to further study, work, and live in both foreign countries and in Vietnam.

From the new school year (2020-2021), VAS has introduced a new pathway of study called the “Cambridge Academic Programme International” (CAPI) for students from grades 9 to 12 at four campuses. The programme has been designed to serve the needs of many students and parents in Ho Chi Minh City for a fuller international programme with reasonable tuition fees. It helps students reduce learning pressure by focusing more on academic knowledge of the Cambridge programme. Students will take only a few subjects in the Ministry of Education and Training’s programme. Completing Grade 12, students can sit the exam and receive diplomas and certificates from both programmes including the Cambridge AS-A Level and, if they so wish, the National Degree.
