Hanoi will improve the urban infrastructure of the four inner districts

The planning combines six subdivision planning projects, H1-1A, H1-1B, H1-1C, H1-2, H1-3, and H-4 with a ratio of 1/2,000 and a scale of more than 2,700 hectares.

The subdivision planning is to serve for urban development in the historic inner zone with the approved planning in order to ensure the synchronisation in technical infrastructure and social infrastructure development, and improve the basic living standards of people towards modern and sustainable development.

On the old streets, only 4-6 storey houses of 16-22m in total height will be allowed to be built. The remaining areas in the planning will be allowed to build 5-7 storey houses (20-25m).

Regarding technical infrastructure, the city will develop the road system in collaboration with the urban railway and parking areas. Accordingly, there will be pedestrian tunnels to connect public works, underground stations, and public traffic centres on the ground.

In addition, the city will have to decrease the population of these four districts by 215,000 people in the period of 2020-2030 to 672,000 people.

Hanoi People’s Committee has also directed the Department of Planning and Architecture to review the relevant architectural planning management regulations in order to effectively deploy the approved projects.
