Hankyu Hanshin, CRE, and Sembcorp to develop logistics hub in Haiphong

Two Japanese companies, Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation and CRE, Inc., along with Singapore-based Sembcorp Development Ltd., are investing in Sembcorp Infra Services Pte. Ltd. (SIS) to develop and operate logistics warehouses in northern and central Vietnam.

The three companies made the announcement on November 20 and have commenced the construction of Sembcorp Logistics Park in Thuy Nguyen, Haiphong - a two-story logistics warehouse in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Haiphong Industrial Park. The project is aiming to be completed by September-October next year.

This will bring the total number of logistics warehouses developed and operated by SIS will be 11, including five properties in northern Vietnam (four properties in Haiphong and one property in Hai Duong), and six properties in central Vietnam (three properties in Quang Ngai and three properties in Nghe An), covering a total are of approximately 150,000 square metres.

VSIP Haiphong Integrated Township and Industrial Park, which is being developed in collaboration with the Vietnamese and Singaporean governments, is regarded as a regional logistics hub with excellent facilities and high-quality customer service.

Hankyu Hanshin Properties develops, leases, and administers commercial facilities and office buildings while CRE is engaged in logistics facility leasing, management, development, brokerage and investment advice. Sembcorp Development Ltd. has nearly 30 years of experience in developing industrial parks in Asia. It is a subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries Ltd. which is a Temasek-linked company (Temasek Holdings), an international investment company owned by the Singaporean government.
