Ha Bac Nitrogenous Fertiliser Plant output to be raised

An EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract to upgrade and expand the Ha Bac Nitrogenous Fertiliser Plant was signed by the Ha Bac Nitrogenous Fertiliser and Chemicals One Member Company Ltd and two contractors.

The contractors are the Ngu Hoan Science and Technological Company under the China Machinery Import-Export Company, and the Vietnam Chemical Industry Design Joint Stock Company.

Under the contract, the plant’s annual output will be raised from 180,000 tonnes to 500,000 tonnes of urea per year.

According to Nguyen Anh Dung, Director General of the company the 42-month contract is worth US$373 million, part of which will be loans from the Vietnam Development Bank and several other commercial banks.

The plant will utilise the most advanced, environmentally friendly technologies from the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Italy.

The project will contribute to supplying more urea ferliliser for domestic agriculture.
